FC Twente will resume their Eredivisie campaign away to Fortuna Sittard on Saturday evening without Lars Unnerstall. Head coach John van den Brom confirmed that the goalkeeper is not fit for the fixture and said Joël will replace him.

There is better news concerning Kristian Hlynsson, who returns to the matchday squad after already getting minutes in a friendly against Werder Bremen. Stav Lemkin has resumed parts of group training on the pitch, but Van den Brom said the defender is not yet ready to feature. Filip Thorvaldsen is also a doubt after suffering from illness in recent days.

Twente enter the weekend fourth in the Eredivisie, with Fortuna sitting sixth after a strong opening to the season. Van den Brom expects the hosts to provide a clear tactical challenge, describing them as a settled side with a recognisable game plan. He believes Twente must impose their own approach to find their rhythm in Sittard.

The coach told FC Twente’s official website that his squad is “eager to get going again” following the international break. Twente face a busy run involving league, cup and European matches, but Van den Brom insisted the team is prepared and focused first on Fortuna. The game kicks off at 20:00 and will be refereed by Robin Hensgens.
