Unbeaten FC Twente Women prepare for visit of bottom club Utrecht
Corina Dekker’s league leaders host FC Utrecht at Sportpark Schreurserve, with former Utrecht forward Nikita Tromp expecting a defensive test.
FC Twente Women will put their unbeaten start on the line when they host FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie Vrouwen on Sunday. Kick-off at Sportpark Schreurserve is scheduled for 12.15pm, with Corina Dekker’s side beginning the day at the top of the competition while Utrecht sit bottom.
Forward Nikita Tromp expects Twente to encounter compact resistance despite the clubs’ contrasting starts. She said Utrecht have previously dropped deep against the leading sides, making patience and invention important. “We have to be creative,” Tromp told FC Twente’s official website, adding that an early goal could help the hosts take control.
The fixture also brings reunions for two Twente players. Tromp represented Utrecht from 2024 before moving to Twente during the summer. Midfielder Marthe Munsterman also joined from Utrecht in the summer, returning to the club she previously represented between 2011 and 2017.
Recent meetings suggest the contest has not always followed the league table. Twente won a high-scoring Eredivisie Cup encounter 7-4 in May 2025, but the next league meeting in Enschede finished 1-1. Utrecht then recorded a 2-0 home victory in the most recent clash. Across those three games, the teams scored a combined 15 goals.
