NEC’s home meeting with Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League play-offs will be refereed by French official Letexier. The Nijmegen side begin their bid for a place in the competition’s league phase at De Goffert.

The 37-year-old has handled several prominent international fixtures. He took charge of the European Championship final between Spain and England two years ago and was selected for last season’s Europa League final between SC Freiburg and Aston Villa. He also officiated at this summer’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada, including Argentina’s last-16 comeback victory over Egypt.

Letexier has previously refereed four European matches involving Dutch clubs. Ajax lost 6-1 to Napoli in the 2022/23 Champions League and 2-1 to Olympiakos in 2025/26 with the Frenchman in charge. Feyenoord were beaten 3-2 by Atlético Madrid in 2023/24 but defeated Bayern Munich 3-0 the following season under the same official.

UEFA has also confirmed the referees for the final round of Conference League qualifying. Sweden’s Mohammed Al-Hakim will oversee Ajax’s away match against FC Sion in Switzerland. Albanian referee Juxhin Xhaja has been assigned to FC Twente’s home fixture against FK Qarabag at De Grolsch Veste.
