Ten-man NAC fall 4-2 at RKC despite Nassoh double
A first-half own goal and Leo Greiml’s dismissal left NAC Breda with too much to overcome in Waalwijk.
NAC Breda suffered their second defeat of the season as RKC Waalwijk claimed a 4-2 home victory, with Mohamed Nassoh’s two goals unable to rescue the visitors after a damaging first half.
RKC went ahead when a pass behind the NAC defence was diverted into the net by Rio Hillen. The situation deteriorated further for the visitors when Leo Greiml collected two yellow cards within ten minutes and was sent off before half-time, leaving NAC to play the remainder of the contest with ten men.
NAC made four changes at the interval, introducing Gabriel Misehouy, Mohamed Bouchouari, Mylan Brouwers and Brahim Ghalidi. However, RKC doubled their advantage through Thijs van Leeuwen in the 56th minute. Nassoh pulled one back eight minutes later following a skilful contribution from Misehouy, but Faissal Al Mazyani restored the hosts’ two-goal cushion in the 75th minute.
Nassoh gave NAC renewed hope with a free-kick seven minutes from time, having also seen team-mate Moussa Soumano strike both the post and the crossbar during the second half. RKC nevertheless settled the match in stoppage time, Jordy de Wijs scoring the fourth goal to complete a painful evening for the Breda side. NAC’s next fixture is at home to Jong FC Utrecht on Friday.
