Sofyan Amrabat believes Ajax team-mate Abdellah Ouazane has the attributes and mentality required to reach the highest level. The 30-year-old has taken an active role in supporting Ouazane and fellow youngster Rayane Bounida since arriving in Amsterdam.

Amrabat described Ouazane as a gifted player with an excellent attitude. Speaking in an interview with Voetbal International, and quoted by Voetbalzone, he said the teenager has “everything needed to play at the top”. He highlighted Ouazane’s strength, speed, mobility, technique and physical stature, while stressing the importance of remaining grounded.

Ouazane has already established himself under Ajax coach Míchel. According to FCUpdate, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder has made 12 competitive first-team appearances this season, contributing one goal and three assists. His progress has also earned international recognition: Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi handed him his senior debut as a substitute during a 2-0 victory over Gabon.

Amrabat joined Ajax on a free transfer in the summer after his Fenerbahçe contract was terminated. He said he has tried from his first day at the club to guide both Ouazane and Bounida, encouraging them while also demanding daily improvement. The midfielder added that both prospects work hard and have the potential to go far. He is also positive about Ajax’s wider development, saying the squad trains well and should become stronger as its newer players settle in.
