Shakhtar Donetsk beat Karpaty Lviv before Champions League trip to PSV
Arda Turan’s side secured a 2-1 domestic victory in their final match before facing PSV in Eindhoven.

Shakhtar Donetsk completed their preparations for the Champions League meeting with PSV by earning a 2-1 away win over Karpaty Lviv in the Ukrainian league. The result leaves Arda Turan’s team second in the domestic standings after five matches.
Brazilian players Luca Meirelles and Alisson scored Shakhtar’s goals, according to De Telegraaf. The victory took the club to 12 points from its opening five league fixtures and ensured it will arrive in Eindhoven on the back of a positive result.
PSV will host Shakhtar at the Philips Stadion on Thursday, with kick-off scheduled for 18:45 local time. The fixture is the opening match of the Champions League league phase for both clubs. Shakhtar’s final competitive outing before that European assignment therefore ended in victory, while the Ukrainian side’s two Brazilian scorers provided the decisive contributions against Karpaty.
