Ruben van Bommel tipped for first Netherlands call-up after PSV display

Ruben van Bommel has been backed to receive his first senior Netherlands call-up after impressing in PSV’s 3-1 Eredivisie victory away to Ajax. Karim El Ahmadi and Arnold Bruggink both predicted that the winger will be included when the Oranje squad is selected later in September.
Speaking on ESPN’s VriendenLoterij Eretribune, Bruggink highlighted Van Bommel’s pace, strength and technical ability. He described the PSV attacker as having the full range of qualities required from a modern wide player, including the capacity to threaten both in behind and with the ball played to his feet.
El Ahmadi then said he believed Van Bommel would “definitely be selected”, according to Voetbalzone, with Bruggink agreeing.
