RKC Waalwijk have signed Virgil Misidjan on a free transfer following his departure from NEC. The 33-year-old winger has agreed a contract until the end of the season, with the club holding an option to extend the deal for another year.

Misidjan made 20 appearances for NEC last season, often featuring as a substitute. He scored once and supplied two assists before leaving Nijmegen when his expiring contract was not renewed. The winger has also won 13 caps for Suriname.

Technical director Bernard Schuiteman said Misidjan’s experience would complement the younger wide players already in RKC’s squad. As reported by Voetbalzone from the club’s official announcement, Schuiteman believes the signing provides an additional boost despite arriving after the transfer window had closed.

Misidjan said the move represents an appealing new step and highlighted his connection to Brabant, where he was born and developed in the joint Willem II/RKC youth system. He also made clear that his objective is to help RKC secure a return to the Eredivisie. His previous clubs include Willem II, Ludogorets, FC Nürnberg, PEC Zwolle, FC Twente, Al-Tai and Ferencváros. Across his senior career, he has recorded 83 goals and 62 assists in 445 official appearances.
