Almere City midfielder Jochem Ritmeester van de Kamp hopes to secure a move during the winter window after remaining at the club for at least the first half of the season. His contract expires at the end of the campaign, and he has confirmed holding talks with Sparta Rotterdam.
Ritmeester van de Kamp spent last season on loan at Telstar, where an injury interrupted a campaign in which he recorded seven goals and one assist. Now back on the pitch, he told ESPN, as reported by VI, that he was pleased to be playing again. He explained that a transfer depended on the clubs reaching an agreement and said he would otherwise continue with Almere.
The midfielder admitted that he would have preferred to take the next step already but is focused on proving his fitness and quality before January. He hopes strong performances between now and the winter break will create another opportunity to move.
Almere coach Anoush Dastgir believes Ritmeester van de Kamp is capable of playing at a higher level. He praised the midfielder’s impact from the bench, describing him as a crowd favourite who brought additional energy and helped those around him improve. Dastgir was also pleased with Almere’s victory over FC Volendam, calling the result deserved while noting that his side should have established a two-goal advantage earlier and avoided a tense finish.
