PSV midfielder Joël van den Berg completes Celtic move
The 19-year-old leaves Eindhoven in a late summer-window deal reportedly worth around €4 million.

PSV have parted company with 19-year-old midfielder Joël van den Berg, who has completed a move to Celtic. Both clubs announced the transfer as the summer window approached its conclusion.
Voetbalzone reports that PSV will receive around €4 million for Van den Berg. The Eindhoven club had already prepared for his departure by signing midfielder Ayoni Santos from Sparta Rotterdam.
Van den Berg expressed his appreciation for the club and its supporters following the move. He was “very grateful for my time at PSV”, he said in comments carried by Voetbalzone, while also thanking the staff and his former team-mates. The midfielder added that he was proud of the progress he had made in Eindhoven, both as a player and as a person.
His transfer formed part of a busy deadline day for PSV technical director Earnest Stewart. Essiën Bassey and Isaac Babadi also left the club, while PSV brought in Sam Lammers, Sami Ouaissa and Santos during the closing days of the market. The report adds that Norwegian prospect Mikkel Bro Hansen was registered before the deadline and was due to be presented on Thursday.
