PSV handed Madrid double as Feyenoord draw Barcelona and Inter
The Dutch pair have learned their eight opponents for the Champions League league phase, with trips to Spain among the standout fixtures.
PSV will visit Real Madrid and host Atlético Madrid in the Champions League league phase following Thursday’s UEFA draw in Monaco. Feyenoord, meanwhile, have been handed a trip to Barcelona and a home meeting with Internazionale among their eight fixtures.
The Eindhoven club will also face Club Brugge, Shakhtar Donetsk and VfB Stuttgart at home. Their other away games are against Porto, RB Leipzig and Norwegian side Viking. PSV therefore have four matches at the Philips Stadion and four on the road, including demanding visits to Madrid, Porto and Leipzig.
Feyenoord’s home programme features Inter, Porto, Leipzig and Como. Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will travel to face Barcelona, Real Betis, Galatasaray and Viking. That gives the Rotterdam club two journeys to Spain, while Porto, Leipzig and Viking will each encounter both Dutch representatives during the league phase.
The opening round is scheduled for September 8-10. The draw determined the opponents and venues, but not the order or exact dates of the games; UEFA is expected to publish the complete fixture schedule on Saturday.
