PSV defender Lutsharel Geertruida has released a new single titled Lit, continuing his musical work under the stage name Lutsha. The Netherlands international promoted the track through videos recorded beside the pitch at the Philips Stadion alongside artists Bryan Mg and Revvsen.

According to De Telegraaf, excerpts shared before the release quickly attracted hundreds of thousands of views. Record label Avalon Music said the song was intended to provide a positive note following a turbulent transfer period. The label stressed that Lit was separate from the controversy surrounding Geertruida’s move and instead focused on “energy, good vibes” and connecting different worlds.

Geertruida joined PSV from Feyenoord this summer, a switch which generated considerable discussion. He had already posted music online before this release, but is yet to achieve the level of streaming success enjoyed by former PSV player Noa Lang. Performing as Noano, Lang has recorded five songs which have each passed 16 million plays on Spotify, De Telegraaf reported.

The promotional material for Lit leans heavily on Geertruida’s football setting, with the Philips Stadion featuring prominently. The track is now available to stream on Spotify, adding a musical side project to the defender’s first season with PSV.
