PSV and Ajax lead VI’s debate over Eredivisie transfer-window winners

PSV and Ajax feature prominently in Voetbal International’s assessment of the Eredivisie transfer window after both clubs reshaped their squads. PSV received more than €70 million for Ismael Saibari and Joey Veerman, then signed Kodai Sano and Sven Mijnans as potential replacements. The champions also added defensive depth by borrowing Lutsharel Geertruida from RB Leipzig, while Filip Kostic, Sam Lammers, Sami Ouaissa and Ayoni Santos arrived in Eindhoven.

Ajax spent more than €30 million on an extensive rebuild under new technical director Jordi Cruijff. Tolu Arokodare, Julian Brandt and Marc ter Stegen made encouraging starts, according to VI, before Sofyan Amrabat, Thilo Kehrer and Viktor Tsygankov joined late in the window. Ajax also raised almost €70 million through the sales of Mika Godts to Paris Saint-Germain and Sean Steur to Newcastle United.

Feyenoord took a more restrained approach. The Rotterdam club rejected a €30 million bid from Roma for Givairo Read, while Leo Sauer and Ayase Ueda each departed for €15 million. Reiss Nelson was the only incoming player mentioned in return for those two exits, although young striker Nacho Ferri, midfielder Charles Vanhoutte and goalkeeper Tjark Ernst had already joined. Feyenoord have dropped four points in their opening four league games.

AZ may offer another answer to the window-winner question. The early Eredivisie leaders kept Wouter Goes, Peer Koopmeiners and Kees Smit, while bringing Wesley Hoedt and Calvin Stengs back to Alkmaar. NEC lost Basar Önal, Ouaissa and Sano but recruited several players, including Emre Mor and Dusan Tadic.
