NAC Breda Under-21s recovered from a difficult start to record a 3-1 home victory over Fortuna Sittard. The hosts created opportunities during an energetic first half but were punished after 20 minutes and went into the interval trailing.

The response came after the break. Guy van Welij equalised following work by Elijah Ikpia before Jemuel Erat headed NAC in front from Karim Mperanyi’s free-kick. Van Welij then converted a penalty, awarded after substitute Calvin Boldewijn’s shot was blocked by a hand, to complete his two-goal contribution. NAC are due to host FC Volendam in their next fixture.

There was frustration for NAC Women, who lost 3-1 at home to Sparta Rotterdam despite taking control after a slow opening. Liyana Lamrani broke the deadlock in the 68th minute, but Sparta quickly levelled and scored twice more late on. NAC’s next scheduled match is away to HERA United.

Elsewhere in the academy, NAC Under-19s lost 2-0 at Vitesse, while the Under-17 and Under-13 teams both drew 2-2 with FC Dordrecht. The Under-16s earned a 4-1 win at Dordrecht, helped by two goals from Keano van Zanten. NAC Under-14s were beaten 5-2 by Feyenoord, but the younger age groups produced high-scoring victories: the Under-12s defeated NEC 10-7 and the Under-11s won 11-7 on aggregate against PSV.
