NAC to honour former coach Bob Maaskant before VVV-Venlo match
A minute’s silence and black armbands will form part of the tribute at the Rat Verlegh Stadion, where extreme heat is forecast.
NAC Breda will pay tribute to former coach Bob Maaskant before their home match against VVV-Venlo on Friday, 14 August. Kick-off at the Rat Verlegh Stadion is scheduled for 20:00.
Maaskant died this summer at the age of 88. NAC described him as one of the founders of the club’s celebrated evening-match tradition. A minute’s silence will be observed before kick-off, while the players will wear black armbands. Supporter groups have also asked fans to remain in their seats after the final whistle for further instructions concerning a show of support.
The supporters’ square will open at 18:00, with the stands accessible from 18:30. All entrances will be operating apart from entrance eight; ticket holders assigned to that gate have been directed to entrance seven. The Rat Verlegh Stadion is entirely smoke- and vape-free, and payments inside the ground can be made by card. Cash can be exchanged for a payment card near Café Beatrix.
NAC has also warned visitors to prepare for exceptionally hot conditions, with temperatures of 34 to 35 degrees forecast. The club advised supporters to wear suitable protection, apply sunscreen and drink enough water. Fans unable to attend can follow live coverage through 076Radio.
