NAC fall 4-2 at RKC as Nassoh plays through shoulder pain
Mohamed Nassoh scored twice despite suffering repeated shoulder trouble, but Leo Greiml’s red card and avoidable goals left NAC empty-handed in Waalwijk.
NAC Breda suffered a 4-2 defeat away to RKC Waalwijk on an evening marked by a red card, defensive mistakes and a painful shoulder problem for Mohamed Nassoh. The midfielder still scored both of NAC’s goals but could not rescue a result.
NAC had plenty of possession during a relatively even opening period, although head coach Carl Hoefkens felt his side struggled to play through RKC. After falling behind, NAC’s task became harder when Leo Greiml was sent off. Hoefkens said the defender needed to handle the situation more intelligently, forcing the visitors to make changes at half-time.
The visitors created opportunities after the break and struck both the post and crossbar while trailing 2-0. Nassoh then found the net twice, but RKC capitalised on further defensive lapses to complete a 4-2 victory. Hoefkens described the goals conceded as avoidable and acknowledged the frustration expressed by the travelling support, telling NAC Breda Official: “If you lose here, that is not good enough.”
Nassoh revealed that his shoulder had come out of joint several times during the game. Although he was in significant pain, he continued because he felt his team needed him. He was equally concerned by NAC’s recurring defensive problems, arguing that the side could no longer dismiss such moments as simple bad luck.
