NAC Breda dismiss head coach Carl Hoefkens with immediate effect

NAC Breda have ended Carl Hoefkens’ employment as head coach with immediate effect. The club confirmed the decision in an official announcement published on 7 September 2026, leaving the first team under temporary management while the search for a successor begins.

Technical director Peter Maas and general director Remco Oversier issued a joint statement explaining that NAC had conducted an extensive review with Hoefkens during the summer. According to the directors, some of the areas identified for improvement during that process had not been addressed, prompting the club to make a change.

The decision received unanimous backing from NAC’s entire supervisory board. The club did not provide further detail about the specific concerns raised in the summer evaluation, nor did it name candidates to take over the position permanently.

Assistant coaches Serdal Güvenç and Michael Dingsdag will now share responsibility for first-team duties. They will remain jointly in charge until NAC are ready to present a new head coach, with no timetable for that appointment included in the announcement.
