NAC academy round-up: Women rescue draw as youth sides claim five wins
Felicia de Zeeuw’s late penalty earned NAC Women a point, while the Breda club recorded victories at under-19, under-17, under-16, under-14 and under-13 level.
NAC Breda’s academy experienced a mixed round of results, with the women’s side recovering to draw 1-1 at home against Jong FC Utrecht Women. NAC trailed from the 19th minute and Felicia de Zeeuw struck the crossbar with a free-kick before half-time. After Eva Nguyen was fouled in the area, De Zeeuw converted the resulting penalty in the 81st minute.
The under-21s were beaten 3-0 at home by AFC. Although NAC had more possession, they struggled to threaten the visitors, who opened the scoring on the counterattack. AFC doubled their advantage after the break and added a third despite NAC introducing attacking substitutes and creating several chances.
There was better news further down the age groups. NAC Under-19 won 2-1 away to SC Cambuur through goals from Elijah Ikpia and Amadou Diallo, while Ruben van Wijk scored twice as the Under-17s recorded a 4-1 victory at Alphense Boys. Elliot Amoah and Anis Miri also found the net in that game. The Under-16s defeated Ajax 2-1, with Yassine Bouimj and Jayden Nahar scoring, but the Under-15s lost 3-1 at home to FC Utrecht despite Emir Demirtas getting on the scoresheet.
Ramazan Mirza Turgut supplied all three goals in the Under-14s’ 3-0 away win against NEC, while Mick Aben secured a 1-0 victory for NAC Under-13 against the same club. The Under-12s beat Willem II 13-6. At the Moerdijk International U11 Cup, NAC’s Under-11s beat RB Leipzig 4-0, lost 4-0 to Ajax and drew 1-1 with Como.
