Micky van de Ven injury ‘not serious’ after Netherlands win
The Tottenham defender was forced off with a hand problem late in the 2-1 Nations League victory over Serbia.

Micky van de Ven’s hand injury is not considered serious after the defender was forced out of the Netherlands’ 2-1 home win over Serbia, according to national-team coach Xavi Hernández.
Van de Ven suffered the problem late in Sunday’s Nations League match at the Philips Stadion. Serbia substitute Luka Jović stepped on the Tottenham Hotspur player’s hand, leaving him requiring treatment from the Netherlands’ medical staff before he was unable to continue.
Hernández said afterwards that Van de Ven had experienced dizziness and significant pain in one finger. “This is not a serious injury,” the coach said, as reported by De Telegraaf. No further details were provided about the defender’s recovery or availability for Tottenham’s next game.
The Netherlands had already used all five substitutions when Van de Ven came off, forcing them to finish the match with 10 players as they held on for victory. His setback followed injuries to Brian Brobbey, Lutsharel Geertruida, Cody Gakpo and Jan Paul van Hecke during the same international period. Tottenham are due to visit Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
