Memphis Depay has agreed a new two-year contract with Corinthians after the club revived negotiations over his future. President Osmar Stabile confirmed that an agreement had been reached, while Voetbalzone reports that the Netherlands striker has signed until the middle of 2028.

A renewal had appeared unlikely only a week earlier, when Corinthians announced that they would not extend Depay’s expiring deal following lengthy talks. The forward responded angrily in public, but later reopened discussions with the Brazilian club. Stabile said the revised arrangement was approved by the board after a prolonged process.

Financial concessions from Depay helped unlock the agreement. According to figures cited by FCUpdate from ESPN, the overall package is worth around €22 million, including salary and money Corinthians already owe the player. Depay reportedly accepted a €3.5 million reduction on outstanding payments of €12.5 million, leaving €9 million to be paid in four instalments. The first is due in January 2027, with the reduction cancelled if Corinthians miss a deadline.

Voetbalzone, citing UOL and sources close to Corinthians, reports that Depay also lowered his proposed annual salary from €9 million to €7 million. He is additionally said to have waived interest on money owed to him and dropped a clause requiring the club to generate €2.5 million through commercial agreements. Stabile said the lower cost made the deal financially workable for Corinthians.
