De Graafschap recovered from a disastrous start to claim a 2-1 victory away to FC Volendam, with Joran Hardeman scoring the decisive goal late in the second half. The visitors fell behind after only four minutes but gradually took control of the contest.

FC Volendam’s breakthrough came when De Graafschap failed to deal convincingly with a corner. Hesitation in the defence and from goalkeeper Ties Wieggers allowed Younes Jaber el Maftahi to put the hosts ahead. De Graafschap initially struggled, but their performance improved after the opening 10 minutes and they became the stronger side.

Volendam had an opportunity to extend their advantage shortly after half-time through Nick Doodeman. Instead, De Graafschap soon drew level from another set piece. Donny Warmerdam reacted well at the back post and headed in following a corner in the 52nd minute.

Although Volendam continued to pose an occasional threat, De Graafschap maintained the upper hand and found the winner in the closing stages. The ball remained loose after a corner and Hardeman reacted quickest, converting in the 83rd minute to complete the comeback. The result sends De Graafschap into their next fixture, away to Vitesse, on the back of a narrow win.
