Late Bannis equaliser denies NAC Breda victory at Vitesse
NAC overturned an early deficit through Charles-Andreas Brym and Kamal Sowah but had to settle for a 2-2 draw in Arnhem.

NAC Breda surrendered a first-half lead as Naoufal Bannis scored twice for Vitesse in a 2-2 Keuken Kampioen Divisie draw at the GelreDome. The former NAC player struck his equaliser in the 87th minute, denying Rick Kruys’s side victory after they had led for most of the game.
Bannis opened the scoring after 14 minutes, but NAC responded through Charles-Andreas Brym ten minutes later. Brym found the net for a third consecutive match, taking his season’s tally to four. Kamal Sowah then completed the turnaround in the 32nd minute with his first goal of the campaign, sending the visitors into half-time with a 2-1 advantage.
NAC also came close to extending that lead. Boyd Lucassen hit the post with an inventive attempt from a free-kick routine before clearing an effort off the line shortly before the interval. Vitesse increased the physical pressure after the break, while NAC created fewer attacking openings and could not put the contest beyond the hosts.
Bannis eventually punished them with his second goal to secure a point for Vitesse. Kruys told NAC’s official website that the outcome was “a frustrating result that feels like a defeat,” arguing his team should have converted more of its first-half opportunities. Mohamed Nassoh similarly said NAC had failed to score the third goal and were not sharp enough in either penalty area. NAC’s next league fixture is at home to MVV Maastricht on Friday at 20:00.
