Imran Nazih described his first NAC Breda goal as an unforgettable moment after completing Saturday’s 4-2 win over FC Eindhoven at the Rat Verlegh Stadion. The 20-year-old midfielder came off the bench to score his side’s fourth goal, ending a match in which NAC had created numerous chances but allowed the contest to remain close.
Nazih’s father was in attendance after sending him a pre-match message expressing hope that his son would open his account. After scoring, the midfielder looked towards him before running to celebrate with supporters on the B-Side. “I’m very happy,” Nazih told NAC’s official website, adding that scoring his first goal felt fantastic.
Gabriël Misehouy supplied the assist after a positive individual move. Nazih was particularly pleased that the opportunity was created by a player he described as a close friend. The goal represented another step in his first-team development after he signed his first professional contract with NAC at the start of the season.
Nazih has made one start and otherwise featured as a substitute. He said he remains patient while trying to earn a regular place through his work in training. The midfielder also believes NAC must become more clinical and finish matches earlier, although he feels the team is moving in the right direction under Rick Kruys, whom he previously knew from FC Volendam’s youth set-up.
