Heracles loan Luka Kulenovic to Hungarian champions ETO FC Győr

Heracles Almelo have loaned Luka Kulenovic to Hungarian champions ETO FC Győr for the rest of the season. The agreement also gives the Hungarian club an option to buy the 26-year-old striker.

Kulenovic joined Heracles from Slovan Liberec in the summer of 2024 and has since scored 16 goals in 61 appearances. However, he had not started a match under coach Vincent Heilmann this season. A suspension ruled him out of the opening game against VVV-Venlo, while fellow forward Jean-Paul N’Djoli strengthened his claim to a starting place by scoring six times across the first four league fixtures.

Technical director Ernest Faber said Kulenovic found it difficult to accept his current role and subsequently submitted a transfer request. The striker wanted to continue in another competition, and Heracles decided that retaining an unhappy player would not benefit the positive atmosphere developing within and around the squad. Faber added that the Almelo club would continue to monitor Kulenovic’s performances in Hungary.

Heracles had already prepared for his departure by signing Swedish striker Vincent Poppler earlier in the week. The 25-year-old agreed a two-season contract, with the club holding an option to extend that deal for a further year. Kulenovic will now attempt to secure regular playing time at Győr and potentially turn the temporary switch into a permanent transfer.
