Heracles Almelo are inviting supporters to donate their drink cups during a match to raise money for the club’s electric wheelchair football team. Collection barrels will be positioned at several locations around the stadium, including near the kiosks.

The club says the full value of every returned cup will go directly to the team. Fans who do not have a cup to hand can still contribute by scanning QR codes displayed on stadium screens and beside the collection points. Those codes lead to a digital payment link through which supporters can choose their own donation amount.

The electric wheelchair football programme is run as a partnership between Heracles Almelo, the Heracles Foundation and Stichting Jirah. It is designed to give people who rely on powered wheelchairs the opportunity to play football and participate at a competitive level.

Heracles says every contribution will help the team’s continued development. Alongside the matchday initiative, the club has also provided a direct online donation option and points supporters towards further information about the team and its training programme on its website.
