Heracles Almelo are encouraging supporters to travel to home matches by bicycle through a new season-long rewards scheme. Fans can join “Trappen op Matchday” in the Da’s zo gefietst app and earn additional points whenever they cycle to the stadium.

Participants will be offered a series of matchday challenges during the season. The potential rewards include unique Heracles items and special supporter experiences, with more frequent cycling giving fans further opportunities to earn. The club says details of individual challenges will appear in the app as the campaign progresses.

The app already rewards people in Overijssel for kilometres travelled by bicycle. Points collected through the platform can also be exchanged for rewards offered by participating businesses in the province. Supporters can take part by downloading the app, selecting the Heracles Almelo version of “Trappen op Matchday” and cycling to home fixtures.

The project is a joint initiative involving the Province of Overijssel, the Da’s zo gefietst app, Heracles, Go Ahead Eagles and FC Twente. Its stated aims are to persuade more supporters to cycle to their clubs’ stadiums, improve accessibility around the grounds on matchdays and add another element to the overall fan experience.
