Heracles appoint Eric Boersma as new general director
The KNVB department head will begin work in Almelo on 1 December after signing a contract running until the summer of 2030.

Heracles Almelo have appointed Eric Boersma as their new general director. The 37-year-old will start at the Asito Stadion on 1 December and has signed a contract through to the summer of 2030.
Boersma is currently head of the Expertise department at the KNVB. He joined the Dutch football association as a senior professional football adviser in March 2023 and took charge of the department six months later. His team has supported executives and staff at professional clubs with strengthening their organisations.
Before moving to the KNVB, Boersma spent 12-and-a-half years in several roles within SC Heerenveen’s youth set-up, including a spell as manager of the club’s academy. At Heracles, he will lead the organisation as a whole while working closely with technical director Ernest Faber and financial manager Remon Enting. Boersma said the club’s hard-working mentality appealed to him and identified promotion as the target for the current season.
Supervisory board chairman Hans Morsink said Heracles wanted a director capable of connecting the organisation and helping it develop through innovation. He cited Boersma’s knowledge of professional football and his experience advising club leadership teams as decisive factors. Enting, who has combined his financial duties with the interim general director role in recent months, will return to focusing fully on financial management from 1 December. Faber will remain responsible for the club’s technical policy.
