Heracles appoint cyber security specialist Evelien Bras to supervisory board
The 53-year-old entrepreneur and experienced supervisor will join the Almelo club’s board on 1 October, adding expertise in technology, innovation and digital resilience.

Heracles Almelo have appointed Evelien Bras to their supervisory board with effect from 1 October. The 53-year-old, who lives in Hellendoorn, will bring specialist knowledge of technology, innovation and digital resilience to the club’s oversight structure.
Bras studied technical computer science before completing a supervisory board programme at Nyenrode Business University. She has previously served as a supervisor at ALT and provides training to supervisory boards, with a particular focus on monitoring the digital aspects of organisations.
Her professional background also includes founding strategic consultancy The Cyber Partners in 2019. Bras is the coordinator of the Cyber Resilience Centre East Netherlands and previously served as director of FERM, the cyber resilience platform for the Port of Rotterdam. Her work is aimed at making digital resilience accessible to both executives and technical specialists.
Born in Gramsbergen, Bras later lived on Bornsestraat after moving to Almelo. She attended her first match at the Asito Stadion on 20 May 2005, when Veendam drew 2-2 with Heracles. Bras told the club’s official website that she is not “a walking football encyclopaedia” but has a strong affection for Heracles and wants to support its sustainable growth. Supervisory board chairman Hans Morsink welcomed her specific expertise. Bras joins Morsink, Marnix Smit and Paul van Lange on the board.
