Heracles Almelo sign Swedish striker Vincent Poppler
The 25-year-old arrives from Trelleborg FF on a two-year contract that includes an option for a further season.

Heracles Almelo have completed the signing of Swedish striker Vincent Poppler from Trelleborg FF. The 25-year-old has agreed a two-season contract, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by another year.
The Stockholm-born forward stands 1.96 metres tall and made his Swedish top-flight debut for Östers IF last year. He joined Trelleborg in January and went on to score five goals in 17 appearances for the club before making the move to Almelo.
Heracles technical director Ernest Faber said Poppler fits the type of striker the club had been seeking. He highlighted the forward’s height, physical strength and finishing, describing him as a target man who can give the team more tactical variety. Faber also stressed that the signing was made with the future in mind and that Poppler will be given time to adapt to both Heracles and Dutch football.
Poppler arrived in Almelo on Tuesday, which was also his 25th birthday, and successfully completed his medical before touring the Asito stadium and finalising the transfer. The striker said he had been impressed by the club’s facilities and the technical quality he had seen from the team. He characterised himself as a direct, mobile forward who enjoys physical duels, running in behind and covering ground, and believes those qualities can add another dimension to the side.
