Go Ahead Eagles captain Joris Kramer extends contract by another year
The 30-year-old defender has committed his future to the Deventer club after citing strong relationships with the staff and supporters.

Go Ahead Eagles have secured captain Joris Kramer for an additional season, extending a contract that had already been due to run until mid-2028. The left-footed defender agreed fresh terms following talks with the club’s staff.
Kramer said he feels valued by both the coaching team and the supporters, which played an important role in his decision. According to VI, he described his connection with Go Ahead as strong and said the positive conversations held during the recent period convinced him to stay.
Head coach Joseph Oosting was determined to retain the 30-year-old, prompting the club to open negotiations. Technical manager Marc van Hintum welcomed the agreement, calling Kramer one of the better central defenders in the Netherlands and stressing the importance of having certainty over the captain’s future for next season.
Kramer took over the captaincy following Mats Deijl’s departure in January. He is currently in his fourth consecutive season in Deventer and has made 123 appearances during that spell. He also played another 30 matches for Go Ahead in an earlier loan season from AZ. Kramer’s previous clubs additionally include FC Dordrecht, SC Cambuur and NEC.
