Gladon rescues NAC Breda point in eventful draw at Roda JC
NAC created enough opportunities to win in Kerkrade but needed Paul Gladon’s late equaliser to secure a 2-2 draw, while Mats Seuntjens suffered an injury in the closing stages.

NAC Breda came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw away to Roda JC, although the visitors were left to rue several missed opportunities. Rio Hillen headed against the crossbar early on before Roda took the lead in the 33rd minute through Marco Tol’s deflected effort.
Moussa Soumano brought NAC level seven minutes later, finishing a move started by Fredrik Oldrup Jensen’s pass and continued by Jannes Van Hecke. Roda regained the advantage shortly after half-time when goalkeeper Michael Verrips committed a foul and Anthony van den Hurk converted the resulting penalty.
Carl Hoefkens responded with three substitutions around the hour mark. Two of those replacements threatened quickly: Boyd Lucassen struck the bar from a free-kick, while Paul Gladon was initially unable to convert following an Oldrup Jensen run. Gladon eventually made the breakthrough in the 79th minute, scoring his second goal of the season to restore parity. Verrips then produced several saves as both teams pursued a winner during an open finish.
NAC’s evening ended with concern for Mats Seuntjens, who went off injured late in stoppage time. The club said the severity of the problem was not yet known. Most visiting supporters were absent after joining a boycott prompted by strict transport arrangements imposed for the fixture, although a NAC delegation was present in Kerkrade. NAC travel to face RKC Waalwijk next Friday.
