Lars de Blok is emerging as a potential Eredivisie target after an eye-catching start to the season with VVV-Venlo. According to FCUpdate, the 22-year-old left-back has supplied nine assists and scored twice across his first 11 Keuken Kampioen Divisie appearances of the campaign.

His contribution has helped VVV climb to second place under head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen. De Blok has been given considerable attacking responsibility, including taking penalties, while his left-footed delivery, technique and creativity have made him an important part of the team’s forward play.

The defender joined VVV in the summer of 2025 following his departure from Feyenoord. He had been with the Rotterdam club from the age of seven and completed its academy pathway, later making 62 appearances for Jong Feyenoord. However, he did not break into the senior side before moving to Venlo.

De Blok’s current contract expires next summer, meaning he could leave VVV without a transfer fee unless fresh terms are agreed. FCUpdate cites FootballTransfers data suggesting his playing style could suit PEC Zwolle, with AZ also identified as a possible fit. There is no confirmation that either Eredivisie club has shown concrete interest, however, and the links remain speculative. VVV are expected to try to extend his contract as his form attracts greater attention.
