Feyenoord to file police complaint after fireworks damage De Kuip
Two arrests have been made after fireworks launched from outside the stadium landed on the roof and pitch during the Champions League defeat by Internazionale.

Feyenoord will file a police complaint over damage caused by fireworks during Tuesday’s Champions League match against Internazionale at De Kuip. The fireworks were launched from outside the stadium before landing on the roof and the playing surface during the 3-0 defeat.
The full cost of the damage has not yet been established. Further inspection is required in particular to determine the condition of the stadium roof. Police are investigating the incident and have made two arrests in connection with setting off the fireworks. Feyenoord intends to recover the cost of the damage from those responsible if they are found guilty.
Nets had been installed in front of the stands before the match to prevent supporters from throwing fireworks or other objects onto the pitch. However, that measure could not stop material fired from outside De Kuip. The incident occurred in the 71st minute and led to a temporary stoppage.
Feyenoord could now face disciplinary action from UEFA. The consequences may extend beyond a fine because the Rotterdam club still has a suspended sanction relating to disorder during last season’s Europa League fixture against Panathinaikos.
