FC Twente post €7m profit as equity reaches record €49m
Player sales helped the Enschede club overcome lower revenue and a €3m operating loss in its 2025-26 accounts.
FC Twente recorded a net profit of €7 million for the 2025-26 season, lifting the club’s equity to a record €49 million. The annual accounts were approved at the general meeting of shareholders on 8 October 2026, with Twente describing their overall financial foundation as healthy while identifying cash flow as an area requiring continued attention.
Revenue fell by €13.7 million year on year to €48 million after the men’s team missed out on the league phase of European competition. That absence contributed to a €2.9 million reduction in matchday income and a €10.6 million decline in prize money. Costs decreased by a more modest €1.1 million to €51 million, leaving an operating loss of €3 million.
Transfer activity was decisive in delivering the final profit. The sales of Sem Steijn, Carel Eiting, Mitchell van Bergen, Michel Vlap, Nikée van Dijk, Liv Pennock, Mats Rots, Alec van Hoorenbeeck and Bas Kuipers produced a positive transfer result of €12.3 million. After a €2.4 million tax charge, Twente finished the reporting period €7 million in the black.
Working capital improved by €9.3 million to €14.8 million, while the solvency ratio remained at 47%. Looking ahead to 2026-27, Twente have set targets of reaching the Conference League knockout phase, qualifying both the men’s and women’s teams for Europe and enjoying a successful domestic cup campaign. The club also plans to continue work on the Topsport Campus Diekman project and its revised strategic programme.
