Almere City climbed provisionally into second place in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie after beating FC Volendam 1-0 on Saturday evening. Enzo Cornelisse scored the decisive goal in the 37th minute, completing a well-worked attack after Jamie Jacobs had earlier struck the crossbar.

Emmanuel Poku passed up two opportunities to extend Almere’s lead after the interval, shooting narrowly wide before hitting the post. Volendam almost punished those misses in the closing seconds, but goalkeeper Wessel Speel denied substitute Frederik Ihler in a one-on-one. The result left Volendam 11th after losing all five of their away league games this season.

Elsewhere, FC Den Bosch drew 1-1 at home to FC Dordrecht. Senne Vugts put the visitors ahead early in the second half, but Kévin Monzialo converted a late penalty following a handball. RKC Waalwijk also finished 1-1 against FC Emmen: Jesse van der Haar scored his third goal in three matches before Bryan Van Hove levelled after the hour mark.

De Graafschap shared four goals with FC Eindhoven. Rayan Buifrahi gave Eindhoven a first-half lead, only for Gabriele Finocchiaro and Kyano Kwint to turn the match around after the break. That advantage lasted just two minutes, with Siegert Baartmans converting Guus Beaumont’s delivery to complete a 2-2 draw.
