Alex Bos will referee Sunday’s Eredivisie fixture between Ajax and SC Heerenveen, with both teams entering the game after winning their opening matches. Ajax began with a 2-0 victory away to PEC Zwolle, while Heerenveen defeated FC Twente 1-0.

Joey Kooij has been placed in charge of Feyenoord against Go Ahead Eagles in Rotterdam. Feyenoord opened their campaign by winning the city derby 1-0 at Sparta Rotterdam. Go Ahead made a more emphatic start, beating Willem II 4-1 in Deventer.

That result could have been even bigger, but referee Robin Hensgens mistakenly stopped play shortly before Thibo Baeten appeared to score what would have been Go Ahead’s fifth goal. Hensgens initially allowed an advantage but then awarded a free-kick just as the attacker finished the move, meaning the goal could not stand. VI reports that the incident also prevented Go Ahead from taking top spot.

Hensgens’ next assignment will come in the second tier. He has been appointed to referee Friday evening’s Eerste Divisie match between NAC Breda and VVV-Venlo. The full set of professional football refereeing appointments is available through the KNVB.
