Benfica have reportedly contacted PSV to ask about Ryan Flamingo’s availability. The 23-year-old central defender is open to joining the Lisbon club, according to the Eindhovens Dagblad reporting relayed by FCUpdate and Voetbalzone, although there are not yet any concrete negotiations.

PSV are said to value Flamingo at a minimum of €20 million and have no intention of letting him leave cheaply. He remains under contract in Eindhoven until the middle of 2029. Benfica’s interest is not new: the Portuguese club also tracked the defender last year and made an enquiry again some time ago, but it remains unclear whether they will now submit an offer.

Flamingo joined PSV from FC Utrecht in the summer of 2024 for a reported €9 million. He established himself as an important player during his first season but subsequently lost his guaranteed starting place, despite recording more Eredivisie appearances than any other PSV outfield player last term.

His potential departure could depend on PSV’s efforts to strengthen their defence. Lutsharel Geertruida is identified in the reports as the Eindhoven club’s leading target, with a personal agreement said to be in place. PSV must still reach an agreement with RB Leipzig, however. FCUpdate reports that PSV would be prepared to sell Flamingo if they succeed in bringing in Geertruida.
