Feyenoord will open the league phase of their Champions League campaign away to Barcelona on Wednesday, 9 September. The match at Camp Nou is scheduled to kick off at 18:45 Dutch time, giving the Rotterdam club an immediate assignment against the reigning Spanish champions.

Ziggo Sport will show the game live in the Netherlands on its main channel. Ziggo subscribers can find that channel on number 14, while the broadcaster’s build-up will begin at 18:00 as part of its UEFA Matchday programme.

Supporters who do not have a Ziggo subscription can also watch the match without paying, according to FCUpdate. The broadcaster will make a free stream available through the Ziggo Go app. That option also applies to viewers who receive television through providers including KPN, Delta, Caiway, Canal Digitaal, Online.nl or Odido, although users will need to follow Ziggo’s access process for non-subscribers.

UEFA has appointed German referee Sven Jablonski to take charge of the fixture. The 36-year-old has not previously refereed a Feyenoord match. He did, however, oversee Ajax’s 2-0 Champions League defeat by Benfica last season. Barcelona-Feyenoord is the first-round fixture in the competition’s league phase for both sides.
