Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg undergoes surgery on ACL injury
The Denmark international will begin his recovery in his homeland before returning to Amsterdam to continue his rehabilitation with Ajax.

Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg has undergone surgery after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The Danish football association had already expressed concern that the forward could face a lengthy period on the sidelines.
Dolberg was operated on in Denmark and confirmed that the procedure had been successful. Speaking via Ajax’s club website, in comments reported by Voetbal International, he said the injury had “hit hard” and that his full attention would now turn to recovery.
The opening phase of Dolberg’s rehabilitation will also take place in Denmark. He will then return to Amsterdam to complete the next part of the process with Ajax. His absence comes after he had appeared to regain ground in the competition for a starting place, having been named in the line-up twice immediately before the international break. Those opportunities may also have been influenced by fellow striker Tolu Arokodare being unwell. Marcos Leonardo remains another attacking option for Ajax.
Ajax resume their Eredivisie campaign at home to NEC on Saturday, with the match taking place at the Johan Cruijff Arena. Their first fixture in the league phase of the Conference League follows afterwards, when they travel to face Hajduk Split.
