Ajax reportedly make contract offer to Julian Brandt

Ajax have offered Julian Brandt a contract following his departure from Borussia Dortmund, according to Sky Deutschland, as relayed by Voetbalzone. The 30-year-old attacking midfielder is a free agent after spending the past seven years with the Bundesliga club.
However, Ajax reportedly face significant competition for Brandt’s signature. Leeds United are also said to have submitted an offer, with the 48-cap Germany international currently favouring a move to the English club. Brandt is keen to play in the Premier League, while he would also consider Serie A. No concrete proposal from an Italian club has yet been reported.
The Leeds option appears to be the more advanced alternative. Brandt’s agent, who is also his father, visited the club’s training ground earlier in July. That leaves Ajax at risk of missing out despite making their interest formal.
Ajax’s pursuit is not entirely new.
