Ajax remain alert for late midfield opportunity after lining up three deals

Ajax may not be finished in the transfer market despite reportedly moving close to deals for Thilo Kehrer, Simon Adingra and Leo Salazar Hinojosa. According to De Telegraaf, technical director Jordi Cruijff remains interested in adding a midfielder if another transfer collapses elsewhere or an asking price falls before the deadline.

The newspaper says Kehrer, Adingra and Salazar underwent medical examinations after broad agreements were reached on Tuesday. Lawyers were still preparing the paperwork, with the required signatures described as the remaining step before the moves could be announced.

Adingra is expected to arrive on loan from Sunderland after Ajax prioritised a direct replacement for Mika Godts. De Telegraaf reports that the combined loan fee and salary will cost Ajax €3.8 million, while the agreement contains a purchase option said to be worth €16 million. Kehrer, a 28-cap Germany international, is reportedly joining on a straight loan from Monaco.

Salazar is also set for a loan move, in his case from Espanyol B. The 19-year-old winger is intended to continue his development with Jong Ajax, and the Amsterdam club would have the option to sign him permanently for around €1 million in summer 2027. Once those files are completed, Cruijff and chief scout Joel Lara are expected to monitor the final hours of the window for a possible midfield opportunity.
