Ajax are reportedly monitoring Atlético Nacional centre-back Néider Parra as they assess another potential recruit from Colombia. FCUpdate says Ajax scouts were present to watch the 21-year-old this week, although there is no indication that the Amsterdam club have made an offer or opened negotiations.
Parra featured in Atlético Nacional’s 3-1 victory over Junior Barranquilla on Wednesday, a meeting between the top two sides in the Colombian competition. The 1.92-metre defender supplied an assist, won all of his tackles and recorded 93 per cent passing accuracy in his own half.
Ajax would not be alone in tracking the right-footed defender. According to the report, which cites Sport Witness, Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth, FC Porto and Palmeiras also sent scouts to the match. Parra is under contract with Atlético Nacional until the middle of 2028.
The defender’s rise has been rapid. He was still playing third-tier football with Medellín City until the age of 18 before entering Atlético Nacional’s academy in 2023. After a short loan spell at Real Cundinamarca, he joined the senior squad in February 2026 and has now made 15 appearances. His profile and development have prompted comparisons with Dávinson Sánchez, whom Ajax signed from Atlético Nacional in 2016 for €5.5 million before selling him to Tottenham Hotspur one year later for €42 million.
