Ajax have been handed home matches against Atalanta, Getafe and FC Thun in the Conference League league phase. Their three away assignments will take them to FC Midtjylland, Sint-Truiden and Hajduk Split.

The meeting with Getafe revives memories of the clubs’ Europa League tie in 2020. The Spanish side eliminated Ajax 3-2 on aggregate in a contentious knockout-round contest. Ajax reached this season’s league phase after progressing through three qualifying rounds against Vojvodina, Shelbourne and Sion.

FC Twente will face Freiburg, Pafos, Kairat Almaty, Lincoln Red Imps, FC Thun and AGF Aarhus. The Enschede club have confirmed that their campaign starts against Thun at De Grolsch Veste on 15 October, followed by a trip to Gibraltar to play Lincoln Red Imps on 22 October. Pafos visit on 5 November before Twente travel to Freiburg on 26 November and Aarhus on 10 December. Kairat Almaty provide the opposition in the final home game on 17 December. The dates and kick-off times remain subject to UEFA changes.

Twente entered the Conference League qualifiers after being knocked out of the Europa League preliminaries by Ferencváros. They subsequently overcame DAC 1904 and Qarabag, overturning a first-leg deficit against the Azerbaijani club after extra time. The Conference League’s 36-team phase gives every side three home and three away fixtures. The leading eight advance directly to the last 16, while teams placed ninth to 24th enter a play-off round.
