Ajax close in on loan move for Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer

Ajax are close to signing AS Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer on loan, according to reporting cited by Voetbalzone. Talks between the clubs are said to be progressing positively, with Foot Mercato reporting that the proposed season-long agreement would cost Ajax €2 million and would not include an option to buy.
The 29-year-old has started Monaco’s opening league fixtures on the bench. Ajax coach Míchel Sánchez wants another option in central defence and currently has 19-year-old Aaron Bouwman as his only right-footed centre-back. Kehrer can play centrally or at right-back and has made 28 appearances for Germany.
Ajax are also working on a temporary move for Sunderland winger Simon Adingra. The 24-year-old is being targeted to fill the vacancy on the left created by Mika Godts’ departure for Paris Saint-Germain. Voetbalzone says English reports have described Adingra’s loan as fully agreed, although no official confirmation is included.
