Ajax away leg at Sion absent from Ziggo Sport as Dutch trio face European play-offs
NEC and FC Twente also begin decisive qualifying ties this week, with their home matches available on Dutch television.

Three Dutch clubs begin European play-off ties this week, with NEC hosting Bodø/Glimt on Wednesday at 21:00 before FC Twente and Ajax play on Thursday. NEC’s Champions League play-off will be shown by Ziggo Sport, while ESPN will carry Twente’s Conference League meeting with Qarabag at 20:00.
Ajax visit Sion in their Conference League play-off at 20:15 on Thursday, but the match will not be broadcast by Ziggo Sport. The broadcaster explained that the tie falls outside its UEFA package, leaving the home club able to sell the rights separately. Chris Woerts reported that the game will instead be available through Talpa platform Kijk on a pay-per-view basis for €4.99.
The Amsterdam side reached this stage after a 2-2 draw away to Shelbourne. Michel Sanchez’s team also drew 2-2 with Heerenveen in the Eredivisie at the weekend. Ajax have been granted a free league weekend by the KNVB following a request designed to give them more preparation time for the two Sion fixtures.
Ziggo Sport will show the return leg at the Johan Cruijff ArenA live and free of charge through Ziggo Sport Free. That decisive match is scheduled for Thursday, 27 August at 20:00. Elsewhere, Bodø/Glimt reached the play-offs by defeating Union Saint-Gilloise 6-5 on aggregate, while Qarabag advanced with a 2-0 win over Dinamo Kyiv.
